Saturday (Apr. 25th) morning (not so early) we got up, and drove to California. I really wanted to see a Chivas USA soccer game, and the kids are always happy to go to the beach. We rolled into town about 4:30pm, but that was fine because the game didn't start until 7:30. We got to the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA about 6pm. We bought our tickets, found our seats, then walked around for awhile checking out the festivities. It was so cool to see the game up close, and the kids loved getting all the fun snacks: nachos, churros, cotton candy, etc.! Justin said he didn't think he would like it as much as he did, we all loved watching the play in person. Even Eli did well. He got to walk around a little in front of us, he watched the game, was fascinated by the "Chiva Girls" cheerleaders, and eventually he fell asleep on my lap. Plus, Chivas won 2 to 0!
The next morning we got up (in no hurry), and took Ruby down to the dog beach in Huntington Beach. She was not so sure about being in the water, but she ran around in the sand quite happily. After about an hour, we left dog beach, and went to Newport Beach. The day was a little cool in the morning, but the afternoon sun kept us warm while the breeze kept us from getting hot. It was such a fun weekend. 12 hours of driving for 24 hours of fun, but so totally worth it!!!
